3-day training workshop on “Building Sustainable Development Roadmaps in SIDS” 14 - 16 November, Oranjestad, Aruba (by UNDP)
The Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in Aruba - under the auspices of UNDP - have the honour of informing you of a training workshop on Building Sustainable Development Roadmaps for SIDS. It will focus on three thematic areas: Sustainable Energy, Public Private Partnerships (PPP), and Sustainable Tourism from 14 – 16 November 2016, Oranjestad, Aruba.
The training workshop aims to increase the capacity of SIDS in building sustainable development roadmaps . It will be supported by a virtual platform and the development of case-based knowledge products to ensure its sustainability and to provide ongoing support to countries. Also, the COE will provide in-country technical support to seven SIDS in sustainable development road mapping
The training workshop is organized in view of the need to develop the capacities of SIDS at the policy level on Sustainable Development. It will provide the SIDS participants the opportunity to work on their own strategies regarding the thematic areas and/or road mapping their own Sustainable Development plan. This is vital particularly for those participants who are aware of the areas requiring attention within their respective country and have the qualifications and potential for implementation. The ideal nominee has the capacity to inform national development at strategy level and is keen to develop knowledge on the thematic areas being covered by the workshop.
